MCB or fuse tripping repeatedly
Your MCB trips as a safety measure when it detects overload or a fault. If it trips once during a storm, that's normal. If it trips every few days, it's telling you something is wrong in that circuit. Resetting it repeatedly doesn't fix the problem — it just resets the warning system.

Burning smell from sockets or switches

A tingle or small shock when touching a metal appliance or switch means current is escaping the system somewhere it shouldn't. This is an earthing failure. In Kerala, where earthing quality in older homes can be poor and humidity is high, this is a common and serious issue.

Buzzing or crackling sounds from the distribution board
Any audible sound from your distribution board or from a switch — buzzing, crackling, or clicking — is active arcing. This is a fire hazard. Do not ignore it.
